The collection of Grażyna and Jacek Łozowski is one of the most important Polish private collections of Polish art, which has been created for 50 years - initially under the care of Mr. Łozowski father, a lover of Polish painting and also a collector. With time, he became independent, and at his side was a spouse, Grażyna, who supports and co-creates this collection. It covers several hundred items above all Polish painting from the second half of the nineteenth century, to the latest work. This year marks the round anniversary of the commencement of the collecting activity by Jacek Łozowski and on this occasion the National Art Gallery in Sopot will present an exhibition composed of works created during the Young Poland period and the interwar period There will be several unmistakable masterpieces, such as "Rybak" ("Fisherman") by Leon Wyczółkowski (1889), "Żywioły - powietrze" ("Elements - air") by Stanisław Wyspiański (1897), "Japonka" ("Japanese woman") by Wojciech Weiss (1900), "Korowód dziecięcy" ("Children's procession") by Witold Wojtkiewicz (1905), "Dama w czarnym kapeluszu" ("Lady in black hat") by Olga Boznańska (1906), "Pani B. pełznie na brzuchu" ("Mrs. B. crawls on the stomach") by Witkacy (1912) or "Maski" ("Masks") by Tadeusz Makowski (1929). And besides, the whole galaxy of the most important names of that time: Jan Cybis, Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa, Eugeniusz Eibisch, Julian Fałat, Aleksander Gierymski, Konrad Krzyżanowski, Tadeusz Kulisiewicz, Jacek Malczewski, Ferdynand Ruszczyc, Jan Stanisławski, Zofia Stryjeńska, Władysław Ślewiński, Zygmunt Waliszewski. The collection started by my father has been expanded and enlarged many times and is still growing with exceptional consistency and competence.
