Mahlukat uses the unusual combination of violins and drums to tell a fantastical musical tale.
The compositions of Güldeste Mamaç (violinists and vocalists) are the result of many trips to Varanasi (North India), where she explored the secrets of classical Indian music. Her Turkish origins, classical education and traditional Indian ragas combine to create a mosaic of eastern, ancient traditions in her compositions.
Mamaç is accompanied by the Polish drummer Kasia Kadłubowska, intuitively exploring the intricate rhythmic constructions in Mamaç's compositions, bringing to them subtle sensitivity and reverie sifted through the language of the rim drum.
The duo have toured many times in Israel, including at the Mitzpe Ramon Jazz Club and MUSRARA Jerusalem. They have also toured in Germany where they presented their debut album ZULA at important world music festivals, including Rudolstadt Festival, Horizonte Festival, Tamburi Mundi Festival. This year, Polish audiences will get to hear their music for the first time. Www.mahlukatmusic.com
