About art Pavel Kohout's "War on the Third Floor" deals with the topic of totalitarianism by presenting the mechanism by which a victim is turned into a killer. This tragicomedy tells the story of Blah, who in the middle of the night is visited by uninvited guests: a postman, doctor and political officer, telling the host that he must take part in hostilities. German is to be attacked by Mr. Müller. Blaha learns that European powers have concluded a pact that they will not be conducting mass warfare among themselves. Instead, the computer will randomly select two people who will represent the warring parties. Depending on who wins the direct duel, this will be the result of the entire interstate conflict. For this round, the computer chose Blah and Müller as opponents. The German is to be an aggressor, and Blaha is to defend himself. His apartment turns into a battlefield. Art is characterized by swift and witty dialogues, typically Czech heroes and their Kafka fate.
